Crossfire wraps up Red Bull League in Zarephath, NJ
(May 31, 2008) Red Bull League play consisted of matches between 18 teams from across the country over the 3-weekend event, primarily divided into the East versus the West in preliminary play.  After the final matches of league play in Zarephath, Crossfire G91 A McCormick was in 8th place in overall points in the Under 16 age group, while Crossfire G92 A Schmetzer was also in 8th place (tied) within the Under 15 age group.  Each team’s score then determined its final standings within the East and West divisions, which then determined the final two matches each team would play on Sunday and Memorial Day.

In their playoff, Crossfire Premier G91 A won its first match, but dropped a shoot-out with the Slammers in a battle for 5th place overall.  Crossfire G91 finished in 6th place in the inaugural Red Bull National League.

Crossfire G92 A Schmetzer won their first playoff match against FC Delco 2-1, but lost their final match against the St. Louis SC 2-1.  As a result of their strong final weekend at 3-1, Crossfire Schmetzer finished the Red Bull National League in the middle of the pack, tied for 8th place.

One highlight of the league was that players from both teams were seen by
well over 200 college coaches.

Both teams deserve congratulations for their hard work and effort in this prestigious national league.
