(February 13, 2009) Eastlake's Emily Hurd is having quite an outstanding High School season. She has been named Gatorade Girls Soccer Player of the Year. Emily, a 5-foot-6 Junior forward, had 19 goals and 12 assists this past season. She was also a Star-Times selection and was earlier named state 4A player of the year by a panel of sportswriters. Emily plays her club soccer for Crossfire G91 A, coached by Dick McCormick.
