“It has been a privilege to watch this Crossfire team over the years. Overall it has been a pretty special age group in the state and the teams have all shown a competitiveness amongst each other that you don’t see every year.
The very cool thing about the Crossfire group specifically has been how all of the players have made one another better. Depending upon the year, the season, the competition it seemed to always be a different player that was “rising” to the occasion. This is what has made them great, they have individually had to earn their accolades. I commend the coaches they’ve had for holding them accountable and not handing them anything. They haven’t been allowed to rest on their laurels or prior accomplishments. The accountability, competitiveness, physical and technical standards they have been held to will bode well for all of them as they venture off to college and look to compete with the best of the best throughout the country. It will be fun for us to follow the progress and careers of all of these players not just the ones coming to the UW. The more success all of these players have the better it is for youth soccer in our state. “
